Encounter
Follow Advance Throughout his ministry, Jesus consistently sought out those marginalized by society. Like sheep without a shepherd, he chose to Encounter them where they were at – leaving them forever changed. After these people had such life-changing encounters, Jesus called them to Follow him. This meant leaving behind their previous ways and striving to mimic him as his disciples. When these followers had been thoroughly equipped, Jesus released them to Advance the Kingdom of God. They were unleashed by Jesus and empowered by the Holy Spirit to accomplish the Father’s will – that all would accept the Gospel of Jesus and the coming Kingdom of God. This basic model of Biblical discipleship is exactly what Lifeway Youth is all about. Lifeway Youth exists to help students Encounter, Follow, and Advance Jesus and his mission for the world. Everything we do centers on making the name of Jesus known. What to Expect During the school year, Lifeway Youth (7th grade through seniors in high school) meets at Lifeway Wesleyan Church Wednesday evenings from 6:00-7:30 PM. We worship, listen to a message, sharpen each other in small groups, and of course, have fun together. No ride? No worries! Our team of bus drivers can provide transportation to and from – just fill out the “Wednesday Transportation Form”. We meet for Sunday morning Life Groups (Jr. and Sr. High) at 9:00 AM before worshiping with the whole church body at 10:15. We also participate in special events throughout the year, including holiday parties, Nerf wars, all-nighters, conferences, missions trips, amongst other fun activities. If you’re searching for something more, know that Jesus offers Living Water to all who seek. And at Lifeway Youth, you can expect to have an Encounter with God alongside those who Follow Jesus as we are equipped to Advance the Kingdom. Come and see. |
